The members and plot holders of Stamford Street Allotment in Ellesmere Port have recently developed a new sensory garden for community group use. The aim of the sensory garden is to provide a space where people can meet, cultivate produce and eat sustainably. The wheelchair accessible site will encourage people to eat locally grown produce and reduce greenhouse emissions in the process.

The project aims to work with local groups to provide a space where people can learn appropriate skills to support them in accessing training, work-related skills and experience. Local youth groups will be able to work on the site, grow produce and learn how to care for the environment. The current users of the site come from a variety of ages and demographics the group hopes to encourage adults and young people to increase their social capital and social mobility.
